Nation’s Largest Landlord Settles Rent Price-Fixing Lawsuits

Greystar, which manages Fiona Apartments in downtown Colorado Springs, agreed to pay $50 million to settle allegations it conspired with competitors to inflate rental prices.

Greystar Management Services, America’s largest landlord, agreed last month to pay $50 million to settle a lawsuit alleging it conspired with competitors to fix rental prices through revenue management software.

The agreement is part of a class-action settlement with 26 other landlords and payments totaling nearly $142 million in a 2023 Tennessee case against more than 40 property management companies that used RealPage software. The suit alleged the companies shared confidential pricing data on the software platform that were used to generate above-market rental price recommendations.
