Trials ranging from government shutdowns to rising costs and an unstable political climate came during 2025. In these times of challenge, the tourism and hospitality industry in Colorado Springs remains steadfast.
According to the 2025 Longwoods International Travel USA Visitor Profile Study, visitation to the Pikes Peak region was 25.6 million (a 0.3% increase over 2024), and visitor spending was $3.1 billion (a 0.4% increase), which aligns with the flat visitation trend seen nationally in 2025.

Our region’s slight increases over 2024 — which was a record year for both visitation and visitor spending — is a testament to our community: our hoteliers, small business owners, attractions and industry leaders who provide visitors with unique, immersive experiences every day.
With the exception of 2020, Colorado Springs’ visitation and visitor spending has increased year-over-year since 2019. As a destination with wide open spaces, many free and low-cost activities, a strong drive market and a growing local airport, we are uniquely resilient in times of travel uncertainty.
With a destination master plan as our guiding force, our team is executing strategies to bring in more overnight visitors who stay longer and spend more during their trips. The 2025 data shows that overnight visitors increased by 1.6%. We’d like to see that number continue to grow, along with the 2.6-night average length of stay.
Tourism has always and will continue to be imperative to improving quality of life for residents and driving economic impact for our city. Here’s to a strong 2026!
