     State offers $5.4 Million in Incentives to Lure Aerospace Companies to County

    The Colorado Economic Development Commission in June approved more than $5 million in state income tax breaks to help bring two companies to El Paso County that would hire 570 people over the next several years.

    The two companies, referred to by code names in the commission’s documents, are among 11 businesses or nonprofit organizations awarded incentives from state or local governments during the past 2.5 years to relocate or expand in the county. The 11 organizations plan to create 2,161 jobs, spend more than $600 million on buildings or equipment and generate more than $200 million in economic activity.
