Colorado State Fair Balances Tradition, Growth and Economic Drive in Pueblo

    0
By Tiffany Lancaster on September 7, 2026 Business Insights
Green chili stew; the Colorado State Fair is replacing its green chili-eating contest with a new green chili pork competition in partnership with Colorado Pork at the 2026 fair in Pueblo.

For more than a century, the Colorado State Fair has served as a showcase for agriculture, entertainment and Colorado communities. In Pueblo, its economic role extends beyond the fairgrounds, creating opportunities for local businesses while bringing visitors to the city each summer.

As the Colorado State Fair marks another season Aug. 28-Sept. 7, organizers are balancing that economic role with an evolving lineup of attractions designed to keep the annual event relevant to new generations.
