    Fort Garland, Colorado

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Colorado office has quietly been backing some of the region’s most impactful recent projects — from a new business incubator in Fremont County to a wastewater study in Green Mountain Falls and a modular home manufacturer in Buena Vista.

State Director Sallie Clark discussed the programs with Colorado Media Group CEO Dirk Hobbs on May 29 during The Business Digest’s weekly radio show and podcast. Rural Development offers more than 70 programs, Clark says, but many people in Southern Colorado are unaware of them.
