Tejon Street Revitalization Project Widens Sidewalks and Improves Pedestrian Access in Downtown Colorado Springs

By Laura Fitzgerald on July 23, 2026 Infrastructure & Growth

The Tejon Street Revitalization Project, which made several changes to one of the busiest sections of Downtown Colorado Springs, was completed this spring.

The project revamped Tejon Street between Colorado Avenue and Kiowa Street and was funded by a $1.6 million Revitalization Main Street grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation and $633,000 from the Downtown Partnership for improvements at the intersection of Tejon Street and Pikes Peak Avenue. The remaining $6.367 million of the $8.6 million project was funded through the city’s parking enterprise fund.
