Vanguard Skin Specialists, a southern Colorado dermatology and plastic surgery practice, broke ground on a new surgery center and medical specialty suites Feb.13.
The 9,000 square foot surgery center and specialty suites is an expansion to its current Pueblo facility, which has been open since 2017, expanding services in southern Colorado. The space will include an ambulatory surgery center and clinical space. Vanguard’s surgery center will be available to physicians seeking space for specialized surgeries. Patients will no longer have to drive to Colorado Springs.
The new space is expected to open in 2027.
“The new surgery center and specialty suites will expand access to quality care for all Puebloans. It will be a much-needed option for local surgeons who need space to operate,” states Vinh Chung, MD, founder of Vanguard Skin Specialists and Board-Certified Dermatologist and Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon
“We are excited to invest in an innovative space, including state of the art technology and advanced skin cancer treatment services, to the medical community and southern Colorado residents, including rural, underserved areas.”
Founded in 2009, Vanguard has grown from a solo medical practice to a practice with more than twenty medical providers across ten medical offices from Castle Rock to Pueblo.
