Businesses Face New Law Regulating Price Transparency

    0
By Jeanne Davant on January 10, 2026 Business Insights

Businesses in Colorado need to be aware that a new law, which takes effect Jan. 1, 2026, requires them to take a close look at how they set their pricing and how prices are communicated to customers.

The law aims to make prices transparent, allowing consumers to make informed financial decisions without being hit by unexpected costs at the end of a transaction. It targets “drip pricing” — advertising a low price and then adding service, convenience, processing, cleaning, administrative or other “junk fees,” says Stacey Rogers, an attorney with Colorado Springs-based Business Law Group.
