If you really want to know how a city is doing, just look at its airport. The airport is one of the purest reflections of a city’s economic health, including Colorado Springs. Flights follow growth — not the other way around. When the business community is adding jobs, people move here, visitors choose us and that momentum shows up in our passenger counts, in airline interest and in the buzz surrounding Peak Innovation Park.

Colorado Springs Airport sits in a unique spot. Located on over 7,400 acres, COS has three runways that can accommodate any commercial passenger aircraft. We serve a region of approximately 1.2 million people, while living in the shadow of one of the busiest airports in the nation, less than 100 miles away. That proximity is both a challenge and an opportunity. As the city and our market grow, we need to continue investing in the airport and use our local resources wisely. It’s not just for the benefit of the airport; it’s for all of us. Through the ElevateCOS terminal modernization program, we are investing in COS’ future, transforming the traveler experience with upgraded gates, paired with expanded concessions, enhanced ADA options and more. Additionally, the airport built a new Federal Inspection Station, allowing for international service.
