    EcoTech Biofuels (ETF) grew out of concerns about declining forest health and a predicted significant, long-term shortfall in the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). “The reason why I felt compelled to do something about this is because we do have the engineering know-how to solve this problem, and the [U.S.] Forest Service really needs us to do that,” says Linda-Rose Myers, ETF founder and president.

    Her company converts highly flammable, dead trees into sustainable fuels before they’re engulfed in devastating wildfires. “The Forest Service is hoping that we’ll do all the Western states because so many of them need the same kind of thing. So that’s why this one has to work perfectly,” says Myers.
