Founded by Colorado Springs native Christie Frieg, Alethia is a unique combination of innovation and community spirit in the tech industry. This certified 8(a) business is revolutionizing software development and engineering user-interfaces services, while also making a significant impact on local and global communities.
As a certified 8(a) business, Alethia is uniquely positioned to expedite the acquisition process, swiftly delivering capabilities to warfighters. This designation by the Small Business Administration (SBA) recognizes Alethia as a socially and economically disadvantaged company, giving it a competitive edge in the market.
Frieg’s father, who worked in the software industry, inspired her journey into STEM. As one of the few women in a male-dominated field, she remains hopeful about more women moving into the industry. Alethia actively supports initiatives such as coding bootcamps and workforce programs to help women develop the skills needed for success in engineering and programming.

“Launching my own company began earlier than I was expecting,” Frieg says, laughing. “But I wanted the flexibility to truly balance my family life with my business life, all while making a difference in my community.”
With a degree in computer science from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Frieg always envisioned starting her own business. Encouraged by her mentors and driven by a desire for innovation, she took the plunge into the entrepreneurial world. Under her leadership, Alethia has grown to serve multiple customers across the Air Force, Space Force and commercial startups of Colorado Springs. The company celebrated its fifth year in business on Feb. 25, 2025.
Alethia specializes in data-centric, engineering-grade user interfaces and back-end application programming interface (API) development, particularly in the satellite communications and Space Domain Awareness sectors. The company excels in connecting disparate data types and sources into unified applications, providing users with actionable intelligence. Alethia’s expertise extends to rapid prototyping, software development and cloud migration, making it a versatile partner for businesses seeking advanced technological solutions.
At the heart of Alethia’s success is Frieg’s ability to integrate her passion for technology with a deep commitment to social responsibility. The original Alethia was the Greek goddess of Truth.
“The name was important to me because it embodied the spirit of truth, truthfulness and sincerity that I wanted for my customers, vendors and employees. I believe I’m instilling a corporate culture that goes beyond serving our customers,” Frieg says. “We want to bring a positive impact on our local and international community.”
From the start, Alethia has donated a portion of its profits to several nonprofit organizations, according to Frieg.
“Touch of Love International (TOLI) is a wonderful organization that empowers families in impoverished communities through dignified microloans, business training and Christian discipleship,” she explains. “It is stunning how such a small loan can change one family’s life and then it ripples to the entire community.”
Alethia also partners with Mary’s Home. This long-term residential program provides high-challenge and supportive trauma-informed services to single mothers exiting homelessness in Colorado Springs.
Additionally, Alethia supports Compassion International, an organization dedicated to fighting poverty by sponsoring the neediest and most vulnerable children.
“I sponsored a child through Compassion International when I was a kid myself,” says Frieg. “Since they are based here in the Springs, it made perfect sense to continue that support through my business.”
These partnerships reflect Alethia’s integrated approach to corporate social responsibility, ensuring that its business success translates into meaningful community impact. Frieg’s dedication to both technological excellence and social impact has made Alethia a standout in the industry, reflecting her vision of a company where business success and community improvement go hand-in-hand.
