The Be Encouraged Show with Frank and Lisa recently featured Brandon Kirk, the owner of the multi-million-dollar Planet Duct, a duct-cleaning business.
Brandon shared an unexpected perspective on entrepreneurship. When asked how to achieve success, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced and well-tended personal life. His advice stems from a deeply personal experience.
After being in business for 10 years, he returned home one day to discover that his wife and daughter were gone. This life-altering moment forced him to confront the imbalance in his priorities. Brandon knew he hadn’t been regularly present for his family, but had no idea how bad his home dynamics had become.
Determined to make things right, he committed to counseling and rigorous self-work. Ultimately he was able to restore his family and find even greater success in his career. He became a much more compassionate and empathetic leader as well. Much less prone to anger, Brandon has seen higher retention and engagement among his employees.
Brandon’s story is a powerful reminder: true success begins at home. Personal struggles can lead to profound growth, and focusing on what truly matters allows both your personal relationships and your business to flourish.
